چکیده

To test whether electromyogram (EMG) is nonlinear deterministic signal or just random noise, we comprehensively analyze four EMGs of an adult woman. At first, we calculate the correlation time, L-Z complexity, approximate entropy (ApEn), maximum Lyapunov exponent (Ly1) and correlation dimension (Dcorr) of each EMG data and its ten surrogate data. We find that all the results are quite different between each original EMG and its ten surrogate data, i.e. EMG is not a linear random noise, but a nonlinear deterministic signal (though it does not like a low dimensional chaos). EMG is also assessed with recurrence plot analysis (RPA), iterated function system (IFS) clumpiness test, singular-value decomposition, and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (Pearson’s correlation). All the results of these assessments show that EMG is different from noise. Thus we conclude that EMG is a signal of high dimensional (Dcorr range from 4 to 6) chaos. Keywords-EMG, chaos , surrogate data method, Dcorr, Ly1, ApEn

Quantification of Parkinson Tremor Intensity Based On EMG Signal Analysis Using Fast Orthogonal Search Algorithm

The tremor injury is one of the common symptoms of Parkinson's disease. The patients suffering from Parkinson's disease have difficulty in controlling their movements owing to tremor. The intensity of the disease can be determined through specifying the range of intensity values of involuntary tremor in Parkinson patients. The level of disease in patients is determined through an empirical rang...

Providing comprehensive control chart for monitoring of linear and nonlinear profiles using functional data analysis.

Considering profiles as functional variables, two control charts are proposed for their monitoring in phase II. Due to its conformity with the nature of real-world profiles, applying functional model leads to proposed control charts obtained through functional data analysis techniques with desired features. These include simplicity in calculation and possibility of using them for different prof...
